A baby kicks
Against the womb of his mother
Despite the warmth it gives him
He’s a sun behind a cloud
As we move on
from a cage to another
We attempt to fit in
but long to stand out
Further and farther
I try to reach out
Against the thick matter of misconception
The elastic material of ideas and perceptions
And just when I think I’m breaking out
Bam! A clout
Even the best intentions will backfire
I spin and I spin and I spin
Until I lose track
But when driven by desire
Soul hunger from within
Will never allow you to hold back
So I reach out again
Over the blindfold of “It’s too sacred for questions
Let alone objections
Because the path to the truth
Is a one way direction”
Past prefabricated molds of right and error
When thinking is portrayed as absolute horror
Spoon-fed the answers
Have them shoved in your face
But how can you see
unless you step back before you gaze
Hence, I reach out
I scratch and I fight
The boundaries of my mind
Seeking a spark of light
A reality well defined
As I stand proud
To have finally made it there
I take a look around
And I discover another layer
