Community Poem – Book of 2012, Chapter 9

She left…
Throw a coin enough times and, one day, it will land on its edge
The edge of my life isn’t sharp enough, I might fall apart
Edges are tricky! Be careful and balance your thoughts
Thoughts? what thoughts? Do I still need a penny for yours?
Thoughts is an image of the images, the point is what the image is
And every thought is a process that may blossom into full progress,
Once the bigger image is obvious
So you best realize your mind frame is bigger than your mind game,
So make your thoughts physical, and sidestep all the side pain.
The person before me wrote too much, this pen is dying
This is my first time tonight… I see hope for Sudan…
But hope needs to cross over from a temporary rush to sustainable reality
Wob 3alai min alreality! Leave me be!
When THE DAY finally comes there will be sunshine and ululation (lalalalalala).
And (believe me) Giraffes everywhere!
But not a lion in sight
So I walked deeper in the wood
And I got lost, so lost, will anyone ever find me?
All I ever think of, dream of, yearn for is freedom… will I ever be free?
“I don’t need to be in Sudan to get on the community poem” – Ahmed Kamal
Dissin’ and burnin’ each other is that what you’re offering brother?
“It’s Ahmed Kamal again, Maabad you still owe me a sheesha”
5 banat mashat be jamb alnima!
Am i supposed to fall in love with one of them?
Or just look the other way and find something at random?
Because sometimes it is the random path that we should take
I do not know what to write am feeling so fake my heart is about to break
I don’t know who to blame, but read my rhymes till I rise to fame
Drown in a sea of shame
Hunny, bunny, money, or something that rhymes
Sara Elhassan is the Madonna of Def Poetry she burns all my crosses
And makes me head to the dance floor.
And as it turns out, I have Asperger’s.
