Palestinian Kid

by Omar Mahjoub

I’m a Palestinian kid
An infinite war is what I inherited..
I fight death until I die, I must fight to live
Therefore, I’m a natural born a soldier amongst my peers
And my weapons are quiet fierce..
Rocks, sling shots, and what not..
I face tanks and confront gun barrels on the regular..
You call this a fair fight Mr senator?
I’m a rock kid, and i ain’t never joined a band
Slung more rocks than your average crack man..
They bombed my whole area, but still i rise..
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes..
Still, I’m out here, no one taught me how to hide..
It’s honor that pushes me, and it’s instilled inside..
Isolated from the world that’s filled with lies
Living each day like my last hoping nobody else dies

I’m a Palestinian kid..now don’t be surprised
By the number of casualties down here.. we call that a formality
As soon as we’re born..we get slapped by reality
Like wake up kid!
For the sake of their ancient wish
They want to destroy for they want to rebuild..
I don’t know where my home went..
Or my father..or my mother..so why bother..Mr. Arab league presenter
Fuck a truce full of loopholes and prejudice your honor
I was taught to bury my fears, and embraces death before dishonor
