Oxymora of Feelings
by Khider Adil
“I’ll take you down the only road I’ve ever been down..”
to understand what I’m about to say, you need to imagine..
Imagine Alice in the not so wonderland, imagine Dorothy never leaving the Land of Oz, imagine an unsaved Mr. Banks and a Simba who never stood up to Scar.
Failing to escape the circle of life.
Now imagine being trapped inside your own body, Your heart beats a war drum craving freedom, freedom from the dictatorship of the oppressive ribcage.
awaiting for aladdin to rub the lamp and unleash the genie inside of me, but this time aladdin and Jafar are no different, this time the genie wishes he wasn’t unleashed, this time, he realizes there will be no next time.
Misused and mistreated, misguided and mismatched, feeling the vagueness filling my guts, the cruel kindness of the streets, I’ll pray that god will set me free, we might agree to disagree, call it a fine mess; an oxymora of feelings..
I’m drowning in my own head, calm riversides on the outside, raging waves on the inside, separated only by a wall of consciousness and yet, I miss it every second of every day, but that distance, that distance is what’ll keep you alive, for these waves will break your walls and shatter your heart..
Don’t get too close.
they say life is about the journey not the destination, well you’d disagree when you know that there is no destination, just that long bumpy way, heading to an all time low, with one track on repeat:
Kudos to those who died,
Farewell to those who live,
Pity the ones who bide,
Forget and then forgive,
Cause life’s a game of mind,
Get more than that they give,
What’s life than just a ride,
With out no destination,
Through ups and downs we glide,
Subdued by expectations,
One meaningless equation,
The world is for the takers, the makers, the movers and the shakers, the fixers not the breakers..
These are the strings that control the system,
We might see em all but we can’t resist em,
You tryna fight back but you fall a victim,
Cause giving in to it is an act of wisdom.
I said this world is for the takers,
And I try to be one,
Taking a leap of faith, but you’re afraid of heights,
that’s not the only case, you fear the coulds and mights,
You run away from fights,
Giving away your rights,
Fading, You lost your light.
“No change, I can’t change, I can’t change, I can’t change, but I’m here in my mold.”
Yes! I am here in my mold.
Imagine now the hole’s depth,
Imagine how my shoe fits,
Imagine now the pain.
