Most anti-racists are racist
And that’s because racism has many different faces
صابون تفتيح البشرة و لوشن تبيض الجسم
Why would you want to bleach skin
Is it to be more attractive to men
Or to be accepted as a “human”
In my 2nd year of high school
My 2nd month in Sudan since moving here good
My supervisor asked me a question that made me wonder who’s the fool
Son, where are you from
I gave him a look & wondered if the answer was in my textbook
I mumbled: I’m Sudanese…
He gave me a look that told me this is not the answer he pleased
And asked again: where are you from?
“I told you I’m Sudanese, I have this green ugly passport that has
“جميع الأقطار معادا اسرائيل” on the second page
<him laughing> “no son I mean your tribe..”
For the first time I didn’t know the answer to the question
cause I thought it had only one answer
And yeah I heard a little about my “البلد”(my tribal roots) but yet
I just refuse to admit that I’m anything but Sudanese
@TEDx a speaker gave a talk under the title of racism and told a story
but let me tell it again
About a girl whose parents refused a suitor for being from another tribe saying that
“traditions don’t allow us”.
For a simple reason
“He’s just not like us”
I mentioned that because I don’t want to go far..
Here in my country suffering we are
That look we give to the other tribes, poor people & maygoma kids as if its ok to say.
They’re all categorized under the ‘us’ line, “2nd class” human in some way.
There’s a fine line between pride & racism that made racism run in our blood cycle
عاين الخادم ديك
الشايقي البخيل و لسا عندنا من العنصرية كتير
Watching my people treating my people as if they’re less than them
Because they’re not like them
And wonder why can’t I make you admit racism is a sin..
But you don’t wanna listen
Because you’re wishing to be on the top and daydreaming about it when
You spell the word يا عبد
How can you hate your self that much ?
You know what ,hate me,judge me then go home & google “how to skin off your skin” instead of “how to accept who you are & our great nation
With over 40 tribes that you’re clueless about”
But before that let me ask you this:
How do you expect people to respect a person who doesn’t accept themself and their nation?
